Fern Massa held the #l membership card in the San Jose 500 Club. She helped build the Club and to keep it going until the day she died. She was the Lane rep at Fourth Street Bowl and a California State 500 Club Board Director. The Fern Massa Tournament is in her honor and a raffle held with the proceeds and donations going to the National Hall of Fame in her name each year.

Fern bowled a 502 scratch series to qualify her for membership in the San Jose 500 Club, on May 2, 1970. She was elected President for a two year term on October 24, 1970. She held that office for 7 years. She was the first Lane Representative for Fourth Street Bowl and served there until her retirement in 1986.

Pauline Mercer was one of the founders of the San Jose 500 Club. She holds membership card #3. She bowled a 526 scratch series on November 2, 1967 to qualify her for membership in the club. She was elected Secretary for a two year term on October 24, 1970, and 500 Club Representative for Fiesta Lanes.

On 10/24/70 she was elected as Director for two years. From there she went into the office of Treasurer where she stayed, keeping the records of the clubs finances until her death in 2000. She was a treasured member by all who knew her.

Ilene Rhodas - #177

SARA LILLEY - #27

Sara bowled a 502 scratch series on October 13, 1970. She served on the Board of Directors for several years and is still active with bowling in the 500 Club events. We always look forward to seeing the LILLEY sisters.

KAY CONNER - #41

Kay is one of the LILLEY sisters. She bowled a 512 scratch series to qualify her for membership in the club in 1965 at Fiesta Lanes.

ROSEMARY BEAUDIKOFER - #112

Rosemary was fairly new to the bowling world when the San Jose 500 Club was formed in 1970. She remembers bowling at Alma and McKee (Ann Darling). She has bowled at 4th Street since about 1971. Rosemary has bowled Nationals, State (received 25 year plaque), City, and is a regular participant in 500 Club Nationals and Invitationals, as well as our San Jose 500 Club monthly sweepers. She loves bowling, and sometimes makes it pay by "placing" in different tournaments. One significant achievement she recalls is placing in San Jose City All Events.

Thanks Rosemary for being one of those with foresight enough to help start the Club and you stuck with it. Please continue your efforts to make San Jose 500 Club a successful venture.
